Newsletter 3 out!

Marhaba has just released Newsletter #3 detailing the achievements made in the first term of the year. You can download the newsletter (in PDF format) from the Newsletters page here.

An important new change that was highlighted in the newsletter was:

Starting Term 2, the Tuesday Playgroup has now moved to every Friday of the week. Many of Marhaba's parents that used to attend on Tuesday brought to our attention that English playgroups (mandatory for pre-school kids) are on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays of every week; meaning that several of the kids missing out on attendance.

Marhaba has listened to valuable feedback and moved the playgroup sessions to every Friday 11:30am to 2:30pm. Thanks for the feedback everyone!

Marhaba evolving to Web 2.0

The development effort behind Marhaba's online website continues with new Web 2.0 features released to make the site more interactive and encourage collaboration between users of Marhaba's community.

More of this type of development is promised to come soon inshallah.

A message to our parents from Marhaba's kids

COACH ME� I love to feel that you guide me not tell me what to do �.

BE OK FOR ME� When you say things are ok I feel like you give me the confidence in learning from my mistakes�

REMIND ME� That telling the truth , no matter how hard that is , helps me be a better person�

SHOW ME� The wonderful human being that you are� I will always follow your lead.

PLAY WITH ME� Our laugher together builds my memories of a happy childhood.

HELP ME� To understand myself when you listen to me and ask me questions I feel that you value what I thing and who I am.

SEE ME� As the most amazing special person in your life, when you see me do this I feel the same way about you.

BELIEVE ME� That if we have problems it�s just that we haven�t discovered how to mend things just yet� but with time and listening to each other we will sort it out.

HAVE FAITH IN ME� I have lots of wisdom too�and sometimes I have to make my own choices.

LOVE ME� Show me with your words and hugs. I need that every day.

REMEMBER ME� I am a reflection of yourself and as I grow from being a child so too will you as my parent.

I WILL ALWAYS LOVE YOU�

Psst... Marhaba's Colouring Competition results are out!

Marhaba ended its first semester for 2007 with a colouring comptetition; judged by our parents themselves.

The winners of the Marhaba colouring competition are as follows:

Ibrahim Al Jumaily
Nadia Jum'aa
Jumana Al Rimmawi

Our three winners were given special prizes and all other participating children who performed greatly were given chocoloates.

Congratulations for the our winners and good luck for the others next time!

Marhaba website goes LIVE

After a long period of hard work and concentrated effort, we have finally completed and gone live with our Marhaba Online website.

The basic aim of this website is to open a new and effective communication channel between Marhaba and the children, community families and all those interested in our work. The website will be regularly updated with our latest current news, latest photographs capturing those special moments of children engaged in the class and will also also carry some tips for parents to engage their children constructively in a fun way at home.

As you would have gathered from pass experience, we love a feedback from you and are eagerly waiting for your valuable input.

New teachers on board

Marhaba is fortunate to have the excellent services of two brothers from the Al-Saudi family, namely, Bakr and Authman for Qur�an teaching and memorisation.

Both of them have had a positive impact on the kids because of their friendly and charming approaches. May Allah reward their sincere efforts - inshallah.
